A small French village with less than 3,000 inhabitants was at the heart of world attention thanks to Elon Musk. Saint-Saturnin in the Sarthe area, known to Le Mans' 24 Hours lovers due to its proximity to the famous racing track, was selected by Tesla for installing its 80,000th charger worldwide. Musk even went on to retweet suspension of known influencer electric vehicles, Sawyer Merritt, causing trouble in X. The Supercharger network that began in 2012 contributed decisively to the global transition to electric drive.
