Volkswagen officially presented ID. Polo, its fully electric model, with preorders in Germany from today and prices starting from 33.795 euros for the 155 kW version.
The basic issue of 24,995 euros is expected in the summer. The model has been developed in Wolfsburg.
Polo is one of the most beloved and iconic models of Volkswagen, with more than 20 million sales. The new electric version aims to continue this route with modern technology and an affordable starting point in the German market.
The range includes three power options, 85 kW, 99 kW and 155 kW. The first two versions are combined with a 37 kWh battery and offer autonomy up to 329 km. The top version of 155 kW is equipped with 52 kWh battery and covers up to 454 km with one charge.
All three versions support DC fast programming. Charging from 10% to 80% is completed in approximately 23 to 24 minutes, significantly reducing the waiting time in large movements.
Designally, ID. Polo adopts Volkswagen's Pure Positive design language. The proportions are clean, the rear column draws inspiration from the original Golf and the back exudes a sense of high quality. The car remains directly identifiable as Polo, with a more elegant and modern presence.
With a length of 4,053 mm, ID. Polo effectively utilizes the available space. According to the VW, the luggage space has increased by 25%, from 351 to 441 litres, while with the rear seats folded up to 1,240 litres. Inside, the driver has a 10-inch digital panel in front of him, while in the center he dominates a 13-inch touch screen for infotainment. Optional retro indicator function is available that mimics the original Golf instruments, adding a special aesthetic touch.
The basic equipment includes LED headlamps, lane maintenance aid system and DC fast charging. The middle version Life adds custom cruise control, rearview camera, CarPlay, Android Auto and wireless phone charging. The Style version on top brings LED matrix headlights, heated seats, seat massages and bizonal automatic air conditioning, among others.
Another flexibility element is the vehicle-to-load function, which allows the use of ID. Polo as a power source for devices such as e-bikes, via a 230 V plug inside the cabin.
