Anthropic caused a stir when it appeared to remove Claude Code from the $20 pro plan. The company clarified that it was a limited test in 2% of new records, while existing subscribers maintained full access. Development chief Amol Avasare explained that the use of Claude has changed dramatically, with long-term agents and tools such as Cowork increasing the computational burden.
