Households and businesses are expected to face a double interest rate increase in 2026, as the European Central Bank is projected to go up to two 0.25% each – the first by June and the second by autumn. The Euroibor interbank rate is already close to 2.1%, mainly affecting loans at a floating rate. For a $100,000 mortgage, the monthly installment is expected to increase 24-30 euros.
