A new innovative application called Parkout The European Union welcomes the efforts made by the UN Secretary-General to ensure that the UN Security Council is fully involved in the fight against terrorism. In this way, the unnecessary search time is limited and the traffic charge caused by vehicles seeking a position is reduced.
As the Deputy Mayor of Athens, Paris Harlaotis explained in ERTnews, the application is already operating within his limits. Municipality of Athens and from its first day of operation it had attracted about 1,000 users. Although it is still in a pilot phase, it is normally used and the next steps will be determined by the response of citizens and the conclusions resulting from the daily use.
How it works

It needs to improve the search radius, as positions may appear in relatively distant areas.
The application does not guarantee that a parking space is legal. It merely informs where a vehicle leaves the responsibility of parking remains with the driver.

Not supported in areas: Commercial Triangle – Monastiraki – Plaka, Acropolis, Makrigianni – Koukaki – Veikou – Philopapou, Museum – Exarchia – Neapolis, Kolonaki, Ilisia, Lycavittos and Kouturiotis.
