Five top international luxury brands chose Greece for the first time.

The first hotel opened last year without drums, above Kamari, Santorini. It is her first Greek presence Sandblu Santorini under the colours of LXR, Hilton's luxury collection. This year, in early May, a new hotel in Elounda became the first 5 star INNSIDE Meliá has ever made in her entire world chain. A few days ago, in Peyki, Rhodes, Marriott made his soft opening Amoh, her first Luxury Collection across the island.

Three new hotels in less than a month and a half on three different islands. Over the next few weeks, two more are expected to open. On 27 June, in Paranga Beach, Mykonos opens Fouquet’s Mykonos, fifth Fouquet’s worldwide after Paris, New York, Courchevel and Saint-Barthélemy, and the first presence of the French group Barrière in Greece. A few weeks later, in Campos of Paros, reservations for Parian Chronicle, Hyatt's first Greek unit through Destination by Hyatt. Five top international brands, five separate Greek premieres, in short space.

But what makes it more interesting is not quantity, but composition. Two of the five (Hilton LXR and Meliá INNSIDE) open their first domestic resort here, with Meliá even writing in Elounda the world premiere of the 5 star INNSIDE. The Barrière group, until recently considered Greece a secondary market in relation to Italy or the French Riviera. Hyatt for years kept distance from the Greek island project. But this year, together, without apparent coordination, they finally chose the same year for their entry.

Greece at the top tier of the Mediterranean
Behind the synchronized opening, a less charming but more revealing image hides. Greece is now consistently ranked among the most quality luxury markets in the Mediterranean, competing Italy and southern France at a price per room and in the top segment -the Greek premium resort, such as Costa Navarino, Amanzoe, Domes, have proved that the visitor pays for Greece, four digits a night without asking.

For the visitor, the difference is not only in the logo. In Amoh in Rhodes, a daily Olive Grove Experience is served with a test on six aromatized olive oil varieties, integrated into the program as a structural piece rather than a photographic moment. In Fouquet’s Mykonos rock spa is designed by Dr. Barbara Sturm with hyperbaric oxygen, ice bath and floatation tank, while the main restaurant is marked by the famous Japanese Roka. Quality selects specific names, and these names start talking to each other.

This entry is not neutral for the rest of the market. It raises the reference point for every independent hotel owner operating on the same islands, brings trained personnel to jobs markets that needed it, and sends a signal to the next brands they still hesitate. 2026 is not a climax, it is a starting point.

Anyone visiting one of the top five resort in 2026 will see more than a new hotel. will see a market that passed into the prime stage, and five corporate boards that took the same step within the same time.
