Lada officially registered its new SUV, which is expected to be the natural successor to legendary Lada Niva, bringing a more modern picture to one of the most iconic models of the Russian car industry.
The AvtoVAZ, the company behind the international famous Russian brand of Lada cars, which has associated its name with one of the most recognizable 4×4 of all time, seems to be moving dynamically on the next day of its historical model.
More specifically, the company announced that it officially registered the design of T-134, the code name used for its new generation Lada Niva, which is expected to be presented as a fully modernised version of the known off-road model.

In fact, this is an attempt by the Russian firm to transfer its historical model to modern times, creating a SUV with crossover features, but without completely losing the harsh character that made Lada Niva famous for decades.
The first images and drawings that have come to light show one quite modern SUV, with rounded wheel domes, new columns A, roof rails and hidden rear door handles, elements that bring it closer to the philosophy of modern European SUVs.
