The participation of Greeks of the United Kingdom and neighbouring countries in the 7th event of extroversion of the action has surpassed all precedents. «Rebrain Greece» the Ministry of Labour and Social Security held yesterday Saturday, May 9 in London, with the participation of 35 top business groups active in Greek labour market.
Objective «Rebrain Greece» Is to highlight on the one hand the Important professional opportunities and prospects now available in Greece and to present it completely different reality currently prevailing in the Greek labour market, from the one experienced by Greeks who left our country in previous years and especially during the crisis, in order to consider returning home.
During the event, 3,107 people had the opportunity to conduct interviews with representatives of 35 business groups looking for executives and to be informed about the prospects for the development of the Greek labour market, as well as the incentives for repatriation provided by the state.
Minister for Labour and Social Security, Niki Kerameos, presented the new data in force in the Greek labour market, analysing the modern working and economic conditions that have been formed in Greece today, as well as the dynamics that our country has developed in attracting Greeks living abroad in recent years.
According to Eurostat official data, In the last 10-15 years 730,000 citizens have left the country and returned 473,000, percentage translated into a 64% reversal of brain drin.
As Niki Kerameos said: «This is the event for "Rebrain Greece" and the strong turnout of Greeks in the United Kingdom and neighbouring countries makes us very happy and fills us with satisfaction. However, it is also a justification for the Ministry of Labour and Social Security that has turned into an institution, identical to repatriation, the "Rebrain Greece" extroversion action. We continue our efforts to inform our compatriots of the new reality that has been formed in the Greek market and we have an important ally in this project 35 of the most important businesses operating in our country. Their presence here in connection with today's record turnout is a vote of confidence to continue tirelessly trying to repatriate as many Greeks who left in the years of the crisis, as our country is now an attractive business destination and we seek to bring back to Greece as many of our countrymen as we can».
35 groups of companies participated in the event who seek specialized executives and are active in sectors such as construction and technical, technology, artificial intelligence, research and development (R&D), information technology, industry and production, financial and banking sectors, energy, insurance, legal professions, shipping, consultancy, telecommunications, information and media, tourism and hospitality, pharmaceutical and medical-health sectors.
The event was also attended by Deputy Labour Minister Konstantinos Karagounis, Secretary General for Labour Relations Nikos Milapidis, Ambassador of Greece to the United Kingdom Ioannis Tsaousis as well as Director General for Industrial Relations, Health, Safety and Integration at Work, Konstantinos Agrapidas.
