It withdraws from the market apple cinnamon strudets, the EPET as they were found to contain the substance «coumarin».

In particular, the Single Food Control Body, and in particular the Agency's Regional Directorate of Attica, carried out checks, sampling of food with the data: «Strudito SOFT BISCUIT Strudle classic MILLO/CANELA Taste Apple-Canella» in packages of a net weight of 126 gr and the date of expiry of 30/07/26, country of origin D. Serbia, imported and distributed in Greece by BG SHAPE LTD, Athens.

The product was examined by the First Section – Food and Food Additives of the First Chemical Service of Athens of the General Chemistry of the State of AADE and was declared abnormal, unsafe, as it was found to contain the substance «coumarin» a concentration exceeding the maximum legislative limit for that food category.

The Agency has requested the immediate withdrawal of the whole batch of the product concerned and the relevant checks are already under way.

At the same time, EPET calls on consumers who have supplied the product above not to consume it.
