In particular, he announced a 30% reduction in wholesale electricity by 2029.
At the same time, as of 1 January 2027, there has been a 50% reduction in electricity tariffs for all household benefits from 6.9 €/Mwh in 3,45 €/Mwh.
These are measures relating to more than 6 million benefits and the Ministry of Energy and the Environment is expected to specialise on Tuesday 8/9.
According to the Prime Minister, these initiatives are feasible «because we invested in Renewable Energy Sources, invested in the interconnections of our islands and this policy, despite what is heard, keeps current prices 19% cheaper than the European average».
Kyriakos Mitsotakis also referred to the significant reduction in PPC's blue (fixed) electricity tariff, and announced and «a big plan» subsidised purchase of heat pumps for electric water heaters, for 100,000 beneficiaries.
