The expected renewal of Series 7 The BMW includes both a aesthetic update, as much as one technological upgrading, with a clear aim to integrate elements from the Bavarian company's new generation of models.
So BMW seems to be facing series 7 as a «bridge» towards the philosophy of Neue Klaasse, bringing critical technological characteristics of the latter to an existing architecture.

The electric series 7 now has new generation of batteries with cylindrical elements, increased energy density and better energy management. This translates into greater autonomy, but also into more efficient use of energy in real conditions.
At the same time the charge can be done on even more powerful chargers (up to 250 kW), which means shorter waiting times - in 10 minutes it takes energy to cover 235 kilometers, while from 10 to 80% need at best 28 minutes– a critical factor especially for a large, luxurious limousine designed (and) for travel.
The i7 xDrive50 yields 335 kW (455 horsepower) and 660 Nm, i7 xDrive60 rises to 400 kW (544 horsepower) and 745 Nm, while at the top the i7 M70 xDrive reaches 500 kW (680 horsepower) all 1,100 Nm, and it takes just 3.8 seconds for 0-100 km/h (3,5 with rollout).
Corresponding to the thermal versions are 740 xDrive with the 3,000 cubic turbo six-cylinder and mild hybrid aid yielding 400 horsepower and 740d xDrive with also 313 horse trilitre diesel.
The plug-in hybrids Publications are the 750e xDrive which reaches 489 horsepower and the top M760e xDrive which rises to 612 horsepower, completes 0–100 km/h in 4.2 seconds (3.9 with rollout) and has an electric autonomy up to 80 km.
Common element of PHEV is the electric motor of 145 kW (197 horsepower), while charging is limited to 11 kW, while it is very likely that the future of a M750, with V8 and more than 500 horsepower, potential and mild hybrid assistance.
