An extensive and fully organized LPG smuggling circuit The auditors of the Board of Directors of the Independent Public Revenue Authority.
The action was perfectly coordinated, through the Central Business Hall of the IEOS, and was held simultaneously in 14 cities and specifically in Thessaloniki, Ioannina, Rhodes, Trikala, Karditsa, Kastoria, Athens, Katerini, Nafplio, Aspropyrgo, Santorini, Agrinio, Rethymno and Kalamata.

Two arrests – 15 tankers committed
Twenty-eight steps with more than 100 auditors, assisted by four chamber operators and four (4) operational analysts, entered the premises of the targeted operations simultaneously and carried out customs and tax controls, while any execution of economic crimes was investigated.

As a result of the aforementioned checks, two natural persons were brought to the District Attorney, seized and bound fifteen (15) tankers and two hundred ninety-three thousand (293,000) litres of LPG.

Finally, an open-air space of illegal gas storage and another site was found where the hidden storage of fuel was found. The parties will be subject to the administrative and criminal penalties provided for. The audit shall extend to customers of these undertakings to establish the legitimate use of LPG.
