According to the announcement of ELAS, officers of the Direct Action (Group DI.A.) arrested midday hours of 7-5-2026, in his area Saint Panteleimon, 45-year-old and 49-year-old foreigners who carried in a vehicle numerous jewels and valuables.
At their expense a case-file was formed for accepting and distributing crime products and for violating antiquities legislation.
In particular, midday hours of 7-5-2026, patrolling officers of the I.A. Group, in the area of St. Panteleimon they spotted the defendants on board a vehicle which they considered a suspect and called them to check.
During the audit, they were identified, inter alia, and seized:
- the amount of EUR 2,880,
- 19 golden pounds,
- half a pound,
- 5 gold chains,
- 3 gold bracelets,
- 5 golden neck chains,
- 22 gold rings,
- 10 silver rings,
- 10 golden crosses,
- set of gold earrings,
- 7 pearls,
- 4 silver single earrings and
- gold pin.
The arrested were then taken to the St Panteleimon/I.D.A./G.A.D.D.D.D. Department of Criminal Investigation and Detection, which was dealt with in a preliminary manner.
From an investigation of the officers of the above Service at the home of the accused, they were found, among others, and seized:
- magazine gun,
- 65 watches,
- 20 bracelets,
- 52 rings,
- 82 earrings,
- 6 gold chains; and
- 17 necklaces.
In addition, the vehicle was seized as a means of committing criminal acts.
The prisoners were taken to the competent prosecutor.
