THE O.P.E.K.A. announces that on Wednesday 26 August 2026 at 12:00 noon the electronic platform for submitting new applications to the program opens «Personal Assistant to Disabled People», which, after its pilot implementation, was established as a permanent national-wide service.
Interested parties will be able to submit their application electronically via the platform https://prosopikosvoithos.gov.gr.
Minister for Social Cohesion and Family, Domna Michailidou, said:
«We created the Personal Assistant, applied it for the first time in our country, tested it in practice, listened to the beneficiaries and the Assistants, improved it and managed to make it a permanent institution of national scope. From Wednesday the submission of new applications begins throughout Greece. We give disabled people more autonomy and more choices so that they can organize their lives as they wish.».
O.P.E.K.A. Commander Epaminondas Atsavas said:

The Personal Assistant provides personalized support based on the needs and choices of the disabled person himself, strengthening the autonomy and freedom of his choices. The beneficiary chooses his Assistant and organizes the support he needs in daily and personal care, travel, work, studies, access to services and participation in social life.
Who may apply
Persons with kinetic, mental, development, sensory or mental disability may participate in the programme, which:
– is from 16 to 67 years of age, with a special provision up to 75 years for specific cases,
– have a primary condition rate of at least 67% or are in a state of absolute disability,
– reside permanently and legally in Greece,
– are tax residents of Greece,
– meet the projected income criteria.
The basic income limit shall be EUR 35,000 per year for the household and shall be increased by EUR 17,500 for each additional adult member or for the first minor member if it is a single adult household and by EUR 8,750 for each additional minor member.
Up to EUR 1,939 per month for personal assistance
Following the submission of the application, the partialisation and individualisation of the applicant's needs shall follow.
Depending on the category of need resulting from the evaluation, the monthly value of Personal Assistance shall be as follows:
– 416 euros for small need,
– EUR 831 for moderate need,
– EUR 352 for great need,
– 939 euros for absolute and lasting dependence.
The evaluation shall take into account in addition to the disability, functionality, living conditions and actual needs of support for each candidate, so that the support approved meets its needs.
No priority order
The series of applications is not a criterion for inclusion in the programme. Interested parties do not therefore need to rush to submit their application in the early hours or days of the platform. The submission time shall not affect the aggregation or assessment of the application.
