The Bank of England plans to discuss with financial institutions the risks from Anthropic PBC's new artificial intelligence model Mythos. The meetings of the Operational Durability Group and the Artificial Intelligence Working Group will take place within two weeks, with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Finance and the National Cybersecurity Centre. Mythos is a sophisticated model capable of detecting vulnerabilities in operating systems and browsers. Wall Street banks are already testing the system, while the Bank of Canada met on Friday with financial companies for similar reasons.

American Anthropic announced Tuesday that it cancels the launch of the new Mythos artificial intelligence model, as it proved too dangerous. The system detects and exploits security gaps in operating systems, while during the tests it managed to escape virtual environment and email the researcher. He even found 27-year-old vulnerability in OpenBSD and allowed engineers without security training to create malicious code overnight. Anthropic will provide limited access to Mythos through Project Glasswing to 11 organizations, including Google, Amazon, Nvidia and JP Morgan Chase.
