EPET proceeded to recall a batch of feta known name, after the dangerous Listeria bacterium was detected. Listeria infection may cause serious health problems, especially in vulnerable groups such as pregnant, young children, elderly and people with a weakened immune system. Consumers are invited to check the products in their possession and avoid consumption. The ETUC Communication shall include details of the problem lot to be withdrawn from the market.

# The OECD suggests turning from benefits to child care structures

The OECD recommends that the Greek government change the mix of employment-stimulating measures, turning the resources from welfare policy into long-term measures. In a report presented in Paris, the Agency notes that despite its decline, unemployment remains high, while the employment gap between men and women is large. It proposes shifting costs from birth grants to childcare structures, more training instead of job subsidies, and strengthening paternal leave to increase female employment.

Within a three-day period, from 6 to 9 April 2026, e-EFCA and DYPA pay a total of EUR 97.5 million to more than 135,000 beneficiaries. On April 8, 107,000 worker builders receive 57 million for the Easter license, while 750 people receive single 17 million benefits. At the same time, the IPP has 8 million to 13,000 unemployed for unemployment benefits, 500,000 euros to 800 mothers for maternity benefit and 15 million to 14,000 beneficiaries of subsidised employment programmes.
