The tenants of an entire apartment building in the heart of Athens have been desperate because of an incident during technical work.
More specifically, the problem was created early in the morning, when technical workshops began to intervene on the road network, specifically on Defense Street. 4. During the excavations at various points of the road, workers appear to have caused serious damage to the power grid, resulting in the power supply to the adjacent building being cut immediately.
Residents' unrest grew when the workshops, after completing their planned piece of work for the day, left the site. Despite the completion of today's work on the pavement, electricity was never restored, leaving residents in the dark.
Residents in the apartment building are now faced with an extremely difficult situation, as prolonged interruption has put household appliances, cooling systems and elevators out of service, and fears are expressed about food contamination.
Residents shall endeavour to contact the responsible distribution network operator in order to send a rapid technical step to repair the damage and to restore electricity immediately.
