LAST INFORMATION 14:00
of Manos Hachladakis
Constantly upward but within a limited range of variations moves the Athens market, seeking to recover the level of 2,500 units after a correctional weekend that escalated yesterday with intense pressure due to the new ignition in the Middle East.
In particular, the General Index is negotiated at 2,500 Mon. With +0.5% and the turnover at EUR 97 million, 17.4 million pieces have been moved.
The banking index is increased by 1.3% to 2,832 units and the FTSE of high capitalization moves at 6,350 units. with +0.6%, while the middle FTSEM retreats to 3,154 units with -0.3%.
After a fall-out weekend in which the DG lost 73 units, under pressure from yesterday (-2.14%), buyers show a willingness to return to the lowest valuations in several titles , although the situation in the Middle East remains at least uncertain after The US moved on last night to new blows against Iran.
Essentially at this stage the Washington – Tehran truce seems to have collapsed (as D. Trump said yesterday and saying that "I think it is over"), but for the time being it does not seem like the mood by either side to radically escalate the confrontation. That is, with some action involving the Straits of Hormuz – either new closure from Iran or new naval blockade from the US.
This is also indicated by the pricing on the oil market, with Brent moving today with volatility but basically stabilising, after a 5% jump yesterday.
In this climate this morning the indicators in Asia moved slightly higher, the Europeans are on positive ground and the futures of Wall Street have a mild upward slope, with Athens Avenue also being harmonised with the wider trend.
