The Bank of England plans to discuss with financial institutions the risks from Anthropic PBC's new artificial intelligence model Mythos. The meetings of the Operational Durability Group and the Artificial Intelligence Working Group will take place within two weeks, with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Finance and the National Cybersecurity Centre. Mythos is a sophisticated model capable of detecting vulnerabilities in operating systems and browsers. Wall Street banks are already testing the system, while the Bank of Canada met on Friday with financial companies for similar reasons.

The Bank of England plans to discuss the impact of Anthropic PBC's new artificial intelligence model with financial institutions, as the UK regulators join forces with their counterparts in the US and elsewhere in calling for an alert on the risks posed by the tool.
Anthropic's Mythos model will be on the agenda for the next two weeks of the Operational Resistantness Group of Crossing Markets and the CMORG Artificial Intelligence Working Group of the Bank of England, which are scheduled within the next two weeks, according to sources invoked by Bloomberg.
Representatives from the Ministry of Finance, the Financial Behavior Authority and the National Cyber Security Centre will participate in the meetings, mentioned earlier by Telegraph.
Alarm to central banks
Wall Street banks have begun testing Mythos internally, after the Trump government warned executives this week that they should take the model seriously and develop its capabilities to detect vulnerable points.
The Bank of Canada also met on Friday with banks and financial corporations to discuss the cybersecurity risks posed by Mythos.
Meetings reflect the growing concern among regulators that a new generation of cyberattacks is one of the biggest risks facing the financial sector.
Anthropic's Mythos is a sophisticated new model capable of detecting and exploiting vulnerabilities in every important web operating system and browser, the company said.
