The next stage of its digital transition Public administration launches the upgraded gov.gr, which acquires personalised functions for citizens and businesses and introduces a new way of communicating between public and citizens.
The main element of the upgrade of gov.gr is «gov.gr Messenger», a secure digital channel through which public bodies will now be able to send direct updates, notifications and personalized messages to platform users.
The new functionality is part of the development project of the Relationship Management System with Citizen (CRM) and marks the transition of gov.gr from a digital service portal to a personalised service environment, where the user acquires a single image of his transactions and communication with Public.
One of the most important changes concerns the process of accessing services. Citizens are identified once with codes Taxisnet and then they can use the available applications without reconnecting to each service being required.
The new experience applies initially to a certain number of services, with a view to its gradual expansion across the entire ecosystem of gov.gr.
Through the personified environment users gain access to «Citizen Box», in modules «My services» and «My bodies», as well as the services available to the Single Digital Portal, which currently amount to 2,268. In addition, they are able to create their own list of favorite services, storing those they most frequently use for faster access.
In the first phase, the new operation covers some of the most popular digital services, such as the Responsible Statement, Authorization, Digital Document Certification, Private Symphony, as well as demographic and record certificates, with the number of supported services gradually increasing.
Special gravity is given to the new «gov.gr Messenger», which brings together at a single point all messages sent by public bodies to the citizen. Access shall be made through the «Citizen Box» and in particular from the section «My messages»Where notifications, updates and communications concerning each user are organised.
To date sending personalised messages was limited to specific procedures, such as the performance of the Personal Number or individual information campaigns of ministries. With the new architecture, this possibility extends to all public bodies, creating a single and secure channel of communication between state and citizens.
According to Ministry of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence, this function is expected to enhance the security of digital transactions . Communication through gov.gr limits the need to send SMS or emails with links, reducing the risk of phishing attacks, while also significantly reducing the cost of sending messages for public administration.
The new service is also incorporated into its upgraded version Gov.gr Wallet. Users will be able to receive and manage their messages through the digital wallet, while each new notification will automatically be updated through push notification, without requiring to search for the relevant information.
At the same time, an evaluation mechanism for digital services is introduced for the first time. After completion of each transaction, citizens will be able to complete a special evaluation form, contributing to the collection of feedback for the continuous improvement of the services provided.
The Ministry notes that both the upgraded gov.gr and the «gov.gr Messenger» will gradually be enriched with new functions, with the aim of increasing trade being completed digitally, through a single environment that aspires to make communication between citizens and the public simpler, faster and safer.
