A check of ADE In rental car was the cause of the well-established fraud, which had set up a car rental business in Western Greece.
The auditors of the Independent Public Revenue Authority found through the special digital audit applications, which they use in the on-the-spot checks, that this vehicle, although declared in immobility, was leased and was normally in circulation.
This led controllers to look deeper, where they found that a total of 132 vehicles of the company had been declared in immobility, while at the same time appearing in the Digital Vehicle Customer Register as leased.
It is recalled that a fine of EUR 10,000, in addition to traffic charges and other charges, is foreseen for vehicle traffic. For the 132 vehicles in which the infringement was found, a total fine of EUR 1,32 million was imposed.
Control continues and expands, both in this company and in other car rental companies throughout Greece.
