As he was displeased that he did not receive from Anthropic the lifting of these restrictions despite months' discussions, War Minister Pete Hegseth denounced the contract between the two sides in late February.
Trump then expanded the spectrum to all government entities.
Hegseth also requested that the company be included in a list «dangerous» Company for national security, which hitherto only included foreign companies. Anthropic has since challenged these decisions in court.
In late January, a San Francisco federal court suspended them, a ruling appealed by the U.S. government.
