Tens of thousands of reports of problems in its use Facebook as well as Messenger are recorded in the last few minutes, according to the Downdector website.
Problems with both mobile application and the ability to access from a fixed computer have been identified in many countries.
So far over 41,500 reports have been made.
Similar difficulties are found in Instagram.
