Free stamps to get out in pension can ensure unemployed through its specific programme DYPAIn fact, as a recent encyclical clears up to join the program, it is not necessary to complete a certain age limit. However, the current thousands of insured persons can «open» «window» early retirement, such as those who for a period of their professional career have been insured in the OGA.

Starting from «free stamps», the current institutional framework offers a way out for long-term unemployed who are one step ahead of retirement, allowing them to continue their insurance voluntarily without any financial burden.

Coverage of contributions for long-term unemployed

The cost is entirely covered by the Public Employment Service (PSP), operating as «bridge» to establish a pension right.

Beneficiaries may request the voluntary continuation of their insurance until they have completed the minimum required number of insurance days, with the expenditure fully covered by the resources of the IPP.

Beneficiaries are those who:

  • They have been unemployed for at least 12 consecutive months.
  • Up to 5 years are left for pension foundation.
  • They have 3,000–4,500 stamps.
  • They are not covered by heavy and unhealthy status.

Until now, this scheme was linked to certain age limits.

Initially men were required to have completed the 60th year and women in the 55th, while after changes in the insurance system the limits were adjusted to the 62nd year for most insured and 57th for those in the heavy and unhealthy professions.

Circular of e – EPKA makes it clear that by applying the device These default limits are now abolished and are replaced by a new system whereby, the basic condition for joining it is that the insured person is not up to five years from the minimum age required for a full old-age pension, as is established each time according to his insurance category.
In other words, there is no longer a single age «threshold», but the integration option is linked to the actual retirement age of each insured person.

Who is it? «OGA decade»

As far as the former OGA is concerned, that is where voluntary insurance from 1988 to 1997 is now recognised. It is an insurance period which until now was not calculated, but now falls within the provisions of successive insurance.

The regulation concerns not only farmers but also workers from all sectors – the private and public sectors – who, for a period of their professional career, have been insured in the OGA and paid contributions to the Additional Insurance Branch.

This time can now be taken into account in the overall insurance life, leading to a pension entitlement foundation up to five years earlier.

Until recently, the stamps of this period could only be used by those who remained insured in the OGA.

Those who had changed their profession became, for example, free professionals or civil servants or private individuals, lost their right of recognition.

By relevant regulation, this time can also be measured in conjunction with other main insurance institutions such as the former AIF or IKA funds as well as the State, which have now joined the EFC.

How can you buy fictitious years

On the other hand, legislation allows insured persons to buy up to 7 years and to retire earlier, but also «win» even 500 euros a month more in their salaries.

In fact, when fictitious years lead to the establishment of a full pension right instead of reduced, the profit for the insured person is double: both in time and in pension amount.

Attention, however: Recognition must be made before the pension application or with the pension application.

In particular, where the person concerned is close to 40 years of insurance for a full pension, when he is established earlier with a minor child or 35 years of age or even where he wishes to leave early in the pension even if he is reduced.

The procedure shall be made electronically via gov.gr or at the request of the EPKA:

1. Complete the application for the recognition of fictitious years
2. Wait for his decision EXPAS
3. Pay single or 60 doses or withholding 25% of the pension
4. Time counted on pension entitlement

The years that can be redeemed have to do with:

  • Military service
  • Children (for parents)
  • Studies (AEI/TEI – with degree recognition)
  • Empty intervals between work
  • Unemployment allowance (up to 300 days or up to 200 days depending on the foundation)
  • Disease (up to 200 days)
  • Parental leave for rearing
  • Education

The cost varies depending on whether the insured person is:

– Employee or Free Professional
– In or out of employment
– With or without income during the acquisition period

Calculation is based on 20% of previous year's remuneration insurance in the case of employees and on the basis of the insurance scale of the year of submission of the pension application or the claim for the acquisition of fictitious years of the self-employed/free professional.

The same basis of calculation, i.e. a 20% contribution on the minimum wage concerned, is also used in cases of unemployment or part-time work.
Mediation: What applies to public servants, freelancers and farmers

In the State, things are different as for applications submitted from 1/1/2020 onwards, the acquisition takes place a contribution of 20% on the basic salary of the insured person, without minimum costs.

For the cases of freelance professionals - as mentioned above - but also for farmers, each month's recognition costs as much as the monthly contribution for the pension sector, with the relevant amounts of have already increased by 2.5%, as of 1 January, when the cost of identifying fictitious time was automatically adjusted for applications submitted within 2026.
