In a move that highlights the close monitoring of the purchase of care products, the National Medicines Agency (National Medicines Agency) proceeded to officially prohibit the disposal and distribution of specific products of the BOTANISTAS/Handmade Natural Products series.
Although these products had been registered at the European CPNP portal as cosmetics, their promotion was accompanied by health claims and therapeutic properties. Under the current legislation (Cosmetic Products Regulation – CPR), a cosmetic product is intended exclusively for cleaning, perfumery or improving appearance and is expressly prohibited from presenting itself as a means of treating diseases.
