By 2028 the active fleet of public road transport will exceed 2,000 vehicles, of which 1,700 will be new bus.
According to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, this is a structural upgrade of the transport system, with a specific timetable and guaranteed funding.
Today, routes are run with around 1,250 vehicles, covering the entire network, while 871 is already new.

Next month, 205 new vehicles (125 electric, 13 CNG IVECO and 67 CNG Menarini) enter the action, raising the number of new vehicles to 1,076.
This aid is not individual, but part of the principal design of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport to renew the entire bus fleet.
By the end of 2026 the aid will continue with an additional 201 new vehicles, of which 120 electrically via leaching and 81 bus by individuals, by granting an additional 12 passenger lines.

At the same time, all older Euro 2 technology vehicles are being withdrawn.
As a result, the number of new vehicles will be 1,277 by the end of this year.
Financing approved for an additional 396 new vehicles
Up to 2028 an additional renewal of the fleet with 396 modern vehicles is planned, through a combination of European and national funding (NSRF, Modernization Fund, Social Climate Fund), with total resources exceeding EUR 290 million.
- 130 vehicles via NSRF, with a budget of EUR 108 million
- 150 vehicles via Modernization Fund, with a budget of EUR 96 million
- 116 vehicles via Social Climate Fund, with a budget of EUR 86 million
