Every car on the road must be equipped with first aid kits, however the recent ministerial decision providing for its enrichment has caused confusion to several vehicle owners.
The Ministerial Decision D30/45652 stipulates that the car pharmacy must meet the technical specifications of the European standard DIN 13164:2022 or equivalent ISO standard and be marked accordingly.
In accordance with existing legislation, the known car pharmacy must be located in all vehicles, since it is considered necessary to address emergency situations on the road, the fine even for non-compliance to be EUR 30.

To date, the traditional pharmacy included a limited number of basic first aid materials (5 in number), such as gauze, bandages, cotton, alcohol and antiseptic, However, from 1 January 2027 the pharmacy should be considerably more enriched.
In particular, the new first aid kit shall include mandatory and minimum:

isothermal rescue blanket (at least)
210 x 160 cm), metallised for reflection
thermal radiation > 90%, for prevention
hypothermia and shock. -
One
Plate roll (5 m x 2.5 cm) for mounting
bandages. -
One
set of adhesive patches (14 pieces)
of various sizes) for minor injuries. -
Sterilised
individual bandages: a small
(about 6 x 8 cm), two medium (about 8
x 10 cm) and a large (about 10 x 12 cm)
for applying pressure on wounds of a different type
size. -
One
sterile burn patch; or
gauze (60 x 80 cm) to cover large surfaces. -
Six
wounds (compresses 10 x 10 cm) for
cleansing or swelling of wounds. -
Two
narrow rubber bandages (6 cm x 4
m) and three wide (8 cm x 4 m) for dressing
and stabilization. -
One
triangular suspension bandage for
upper limb immobilization. -
One
First-aid trauma scissors
for cutting clothes. -
Four
disposable gloves (vinyl or nitrile)
for biosecurity. -
Two
wet wipes for skin cleaning
(no injuries). -
Two
Type IIR or FFP2 medical masks for
respiratory protection. -
One
brochure with illustrated instructions

The «trap» that confuses several buyers
However, with a quick search online one can easily find that old first aid kits that do not meet modern specifications continue to be sold.
What interested parties should therefore seek is the note «Certification: DIN 13164:2022». If, for example, you choose a first aid kit accompanied by the note «Certification: DIN 13164», the specific kit may be missing the two IIR or FFP2 medical masks to protect the respiratory tract.
So the buyer not just won't find those masks in the pharmacy of his car in an emergency, but it may also accept the EUR 30 fine during a very thorough traffic control.
