At the pace of the transactions, due to seasonality, the Athens market held a mild corrective meeting, which was characterized in principle by the pressure exerted on the DG by heavy Coca – Cola and the support provided by Metlen.

In particular, the General Index moved most of the day to negative territory and completed transactions in 2.606.95 units with -0.31% (low day at 2,597.2 Mon.).

The banking index was reinforced by 0,19% THE 3,045,11 units, the FTSE of high capitalization retreated to 6.658.1 mon. with -0,26%, like the mid-term FTSEM -0,58% THE 3.136,8 m.

The turnover was vertically reduced by staying in EUR 194,04 million, (Friday 238.88 million, Thursday 320.3 million) of which ECU 14.99 million in 17 packages (1 in Piraeus for 2.9 million, 2 in the EIB for 3.1 million, 2 in Eurobank for 2.2 million, 1 in AKTOR for 1 million) with the volume of transactions in 27.45 million pieces.

After a dynamic entry into August last week, Athens Avenue showed today that it entered – logically rather – the summer raster, something that was reflected in both limited variations but even more in the further decline of trade activity.

Another feature that indicated the limited availability of investors for moves was the small changes in the banking sector and especially in the four systemic (except Alpha), although their positive turn to auctions, amid a new barrage of positive exhibitions from international houses, helped to reduce losses.

However, attention continued to be focused mainly on the industrial/energy sector, with the evidence of portfolio rearrangement around its titles still present.

The meeting could, however, be completely uninterested if there were no strong pressure on the market, that of Coca-Cola, whose slippage was significantly affecting the DG as well.

However, even so, Athens Avenue showed sufficient strength to maintain the psychological level of 2,600 units, primarily with the help of Metlen who now touched 50 euros.

At international level, tonnes are also down, but the escalation of upward pressures in recent hours on the prices of crude, as there is no prospect of direct opening of Hormuz, gradually restores some sellers in both Europe and the USA.

Moves on the dashboard

Metlen took the first place in the meeting with 23.4m euros and the top of the 25th with a 2.7% jump to 49.70 euros.

On the side of systemics he stood on the one hand Citi who declared bullish giving new prices – targets and of the other part Moody’s who gave a new vote of confidence after their semester results.
