With increased benefits and extended criteria this year, and even earlier than the other years, the programme of DYPA social tourism, including 300,000 checks (vouchers) and is a budget of EUR 50 million.
Early May social tourism
The programme begins for the first time in May, namely 1 May, instead of June. A change aimed at decongesting the high tourist season, while allowing beneficiaries to take advantage of spring periods at lower cost.
The vulnerable social groups
Particular emphasis is placed on vulnerable social groups. In particular, the large families are included in the same category of increased priority as persons with disabilities, the division being strengthened, with the aim of easier access to benefits, while one of the most important changes is the full integration of foster mothers into the programme.
They are now equalized to the other classes of mothers and gain access to all benefits: natural mothers, stepmothers, mothers through surrogate pregnancy and foster mothers
The voucher
The programme includes 300,000 cheques, with each beneficiary receiving a unique voucher number. With this he can make up to 6 nights in accommodation of his choice from the IPPA Providers Register, with a small private participation.
Special provision
Special provision is made for areas affected or needing support:
- Up to 10 free nights in Leros, Lesvos, Chios, Kos, Samos and Rhodes
- Up to 12 free nights in Northern Evia, Evros and Thessaly (except Sporades)
Grant prices increase by 20% for August, Christmas, Easter. The increased subsidy is valid throughout the year for accommodation in Northern Evia, Evros and Thessaly (except Sporades).
The beneficiaries
Beneficiaries of the programme shall be workers and unemployed who meet one of the following conditions:
- They have 50 days' work in IKA – ETA
- They have received 50 days of special maternity leave from the OAED
- They have been subsidised for unemployment for at least 2 months (50 daily allowances)
- Gather a total of 50 days of the above conditions
- They are registered unemployed on the Social Security Register
