In less than two weeks AMD presents Zen 6, but those expecting new Ryzen should be patient, as the new architecture starts from the EPYC Venice servers at 2nm.
AMD confirmed that the processor architecture Zen 6 will debut at the Advancing AI 2026 eventOn 22 and 23 July in San Francisco, in less than two weeks. Mark Papermaster, CTO of AMD, said the company would present sixth generation processors during the event.
Traffic will not begin by consumers Ryzen, but by 6th Gen EPYC codenamed Venice. Zen 6 thus premieres on servers: EPYC Venice will form part of AMD's Helios rack-scale AI platform and will operate alongside AMD Instinct MI455 accelerators and the networking hardware AMD Pensando.
Papermaster stood on the firm commitment of the market to x86 architecture. As he said, the issue arises in every discussion with businesses, which have been running x86 for decades and are not going to leave this established base. Since the first generation Zen in 2017, AMD has now been in the sixth, with new processors continuing the line of the top x86 CPU and being optimized for traditional x86 workloads.
AMD had earlier confirmed that Venice is based on Zen 6 and supports up to 256 cores, with performance up to 1.7 times higher and memory band range 1.6 TB/s compared to the previous platform. The production of the 6th Gen EPYC family is already escalating and, according to the company, Venice is AMD's first high computing power product manufactured by TSMC's 2nm technology.
For consumers, however, no news is expected. At Computex AMD did not announce anything new about Zen 6 at consumer product level, nor did it perform a separate press event, choosing to re-release several of its existing products. As Videocardz reports, new hardware announcements now give priority to hyperscalers and investors, so in two weeks no changes in roadmaps for consumers should be expected.
