The date is now official: 1 October 2026. The Tesla Prepare to re-present the Roadster, one of the most talked about but also more late cars in the modern car industry.
THE Elon Musk confirmed that the new revelation of Tesla Roadster will take place on 1 October, with Tesla herself heralding the event through X with the phrase «Go for launch»Musk followed, writing features «New Tesla Roadster Unveil 10.01».
Timing has a special interest in Greece as well. Just two days later, on October 3rd, Auto Athina 2026 opens at Metropolitan Expo, which runs until 11 October and brings together more than 50 car companies. Among the companies that have confirmed their presence are Tesla.
That's of course. does not mean that the new Roadster will be in Auto Athina. So far there is no official announcement. However, the timing creates an extremely interesting setting: Tesla's greatest revelation for this year will take place just before the Greek car market concentrates on the country's biggest exhibition event.
The car we have been waiting for since 2017
The story of the new Roadster begins virtually in November 2017. Then Elon Musk surprised everyone, presenting the original at the end of the Tesla Semi event. A red Roadster came out of Tesla's truck and Musk announced performance that for the time sounded almost unrealistic.
The car was originally to pass into the production of 2020That never happened. Continuous shifts followed, changes in Musk's schedules and new statements, resulting in Roadster gaining almost mythical dimensions for Tesla's friends.
Reuters now reports that the program has evolved significantly. From a relatively conventional, extremely fast electric supercar, the new Roadster has allegedly turned into a completely different Hypercar with extensive use of carbonates, while previous plans based on technology elements of Model S Plain were abandoned.
And here is perhaps the most important element of the October 1 presentation: we will finally learn how much of the car we saw in 2017 has survived and how much has changed.
The Tesla continues to display on the official website of Roadster extremely impressive performance: 0-60 mph in 1.9 seconds, maximum speed over 250 mph – more than 400 km/h – and 620 miles autonomy, i.e. nearly 1,000 kmAt the same time, it mentions a four-seat layout and removable glass ceiling.
But these are specifications that are essentially derived from the original philosophy of Roadster, and it remains to be proved which of them will apply to the final car of 2026.
When presented in 2017, the Tesla had also announced a starting price about $200,000, with the first 1,000 Founders Series units at $250,000. Nor can this pricing policy be taken for granted, almost nine years later.
And SpaceX technology?
Here the story becomes even more interesting. According to the information Reuters invokes, the presentation may include a demonstration of a special version of Roadster with cold-gas thrashers, i.e. small compressed gas thrusters evolving with SpaceX know-how.
Older information from The Information reported that such a demonstration could take place at SpaceX testing facilities in McGregor, Texas. At present, however, Tesla has not officially confirmed all the details of the presentation.
Musk has been suggesting for years that so-called SpaceX Package could give Roadster possibilities that do not meet in any conventional car.
October 1st, therefore, is not expected to be just another presentation of a new model. For the Tesla, Roadster works more as a technology «window». A car that is not intended to bring large sales volumes, but to prove how far the potential of an electric car can go.

Έτσι, μέσα σε λίγες εβδομάδες η Tesla επιχειρεί να δείξει δύο εντελώς διαφορετικές πλευρές του μέλλοντός της: από τη μία την αυτόνομη μετακίνηση και από την άλλη ένα ηλεκτρικό hypercar ακραίων επιδόσεων.
Για την ελληνική αγορά το ημερολόγιο αποκτά ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον.

Και με την Tesla να βρίσκεται ανάμεσα στις εταιρείες που έχουν ανακοινωθεί για τη μεγάλη έκθεση της Αθήνας, οι ημέρες εκείνες αναμένεται να έχουν έντονο ηλεκτρικό… χρώμα.
Το μεγάλο ερώτημα, ωστόσο, παραμένει ένα: μετά από σχεδόν εννέα χρόνια αναμονής, θα είναι αυτή τη φορά το Roadster πραγματικά έτοιμο να περάσει από το εντυπωσιακό πρωτότυπο στην παραγωγή;
