Inequality in wealth throughout Europe remains strong, as various indicators show.

According to the European Central Bank's latest report, published in 2023, the median net wealth of households in the euro area was EUR 123,500.

However, this ranged from just 2,000 euros for the minimum 20% of the population to 1,01m euros for the maximum 20%.

At the same time, the number of overships is increasing rapidly across the continent. The number of people with at least $30 million (25.7m euros) property increased by 26% over the last five years. Knight Frank's Rich 2026 Report ranks them as individuals of extremely high net value (UHNWIs).

Their number increased from 146,525 in 2021 to 183,953 in 2026, according to Euronews.

During the five years, 37,428 people joined this exclusive group. This translates to an average increase of 7,486 members per year, or about 20.5 new members every day throughout Europe.

In Germany, five people join the superrich every day

Germany has the highest daily increase in the number of people in «Club» the property of over $30 million in Europe.

The number of UHNWIs in the country increased from 28,942 in 2021 to 38,215 in 2026, scoring an increase of 9,273 people in five years.

In other words, every day, on average, five people in Germany exceed the property limit of $30 million. Of course, they don't accumulate this fortune in just one day.· Instead, their assets are gradually increasing until they exceed the reference threshold.

Germany, Europe's largest economy, ranks third world in terms of GDP, after the US and China, according to the IMF.

In Switzerland, the number of overshipped persons has increased by the equivalent of 2.7 persons per day. Over the last five years, their number has increased by 4.968, reaching a total of 17,692.

France adds two new members every day

Other major European economies follow closely. The daily increase is 1.6 in both the United Kingdom and Italy, followed by Spain with 1.5. In Turkey, the number is 1.1.

Of these seven countries, five are among Europe's largest economies. Switzerland and Turkey are the only other countries in the region where the number of persons with a property of at least $30 million increases by at least one person per day on average.

The daily increase is 0.9 in Poland, 0.5 in both the Czech Republic and Austria, 0.4 in Denmark and Portugal, and 0.3 in the Netherlands, Ireland and Sweden.

Every 90 minutes, a person is added to the superrich in the U.S.

The U.S. accommodates by far the largest number of people with at least $30 million property, with 251,352 UHNWIs in 2026. China ranks second with 121.677.

In the United States, an average of 36,7 people enter daily in «Club» assets over $30 million — about one new member every 90 minutes.

China adds about 12.5 new members a day. Germany ranks third world, while India (4.2) and Australia (2.2) are the only other non-European countries in the world ten.

At global level, the number of UHNWIs increased by 162.191 between 2021 and 2021, which amounts to 89 new members each day. This raised the total world number to 713,626.

«We are witnessing one of the most important changes in the global distribution of wealth in modern history», said Liam Bailey, Knight Frank's world research chief. «The U.S. remains the dominant driving force, but we also notice the growing dynamics of India and a group of rapidly developing economies that now shape the global landscape».

Since 2026, Germany has hosted the largest number of people with extremely high net property (UHNWIs) in Europe, with 38,215 people, followed by the United Kingdom (27,876) and France (21,518).
