Recent research highlighted the most common errors leading to the immobilization of vehicles in the summer months, with engine failures detected in more than half of the vehicles.
Taking advantage of data obtained from 1 June to 31 August 2025, Carly collected data from 18 million diagnostic checks on vehicles and made public the reasons why cars are immobilised during the summer period.
Thus, according to the company 57.8% of the vehicles analysed experienced some damage with the engine that was several times related to either the particulate filter (DPF) or preheaters.
Below are 33.7% damage to the air conditioning system, including air quality and control sensors, communication between air conditioning system components and cooling fluid problems.
Support systems come third on the list of 30.7% followed by errors in the electronic stability control system, while 17.4% of cars reported electrical problems with lights, key etc.
«Many drivers assume that because a car moves smoothly every day, it is ready for a journey of several hundred kilometers. However, some lesions do not show obvious symptoms for a long time.
Therefore, before a trip, it is worth checking not only the basic functional components but also the errors stored in the vehicle systems», reports Weronika Chronrowska, Director of Carly in Poland.
