House owners up to 120sqm built by 1990 and wish to join the new program «Renovate» they should initially determine whether they meet the criteria.
What they have to do is get into gov.gr and the program eligibility platform, which will be opened soon. After issuing an electronic property ID and an energy efficiency certificate they will be able to apply for registration through a platform that will be activated in September.
Renovate 2026: Which residences are concerned
In the first phase, the programme concerns houses closed for 2 years, which after completion of the work should be made available for rent for at least 5 years, with fixed rent for the first three years.
In a second phase they can join properties owned.
«We increase the offer of houses, giving incentives to return to the market thousands of closed houses and laying rules on short-term rental in areas with great pressure», said Minister of National Economy & Finance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis.
Renovate 2026: The amounts of subsidies
The basic aid will be 300€/t with a maximum subsidy of 36,000€, and income criteria will apply.
20% of the work should concern energy interventions, such as windows and solar water heaters and the remaining 80% will concern general renovation operations (electrical, hydraulic, kitchen and bathroom renovations).
