The «eyes of the sky» operated by its scientists University of Aegean in collaboration with executives of the General Secretariat of Public Property of the Ministry of Finance, they are looking for data - which will be documented with videos and photographs - about trespasses and other illegalities on the island.

As it reveals today «SUBJECT», this summer and by the end of the week more than 1,000 inspections had been carried out on 250 beaches, and more than 400 businesses throughout the country were also checked as a result of a 3,500 complaint assessment. By making a comparison with previous year's figures, complaints and controls were too many.
In fact, on the first day of the platform, last year, 1,900 complaints were made, which by the end of June 2025 exceeded 25,000, leading to equal checks and 20,500 on-site autopsies on 2,400 businesses on 630 beaches.
This year, in an additional month within «high season», checks carried out were 1/25th of last year, as the valid complaints were much less. Last year fines over EUR 9 million were imposed (in 400 cases of the 682 cases of infringements detected), while in 55 cases orders were issued to seal operations.

Sources of the Ministry of Culture, however, point out that it is very impressive that such a spectacular reduction of complaints and therefore also of illegalities occurs, despite the fact that controls on the sea and beaches of the whole country for the detection of infringements and enforcement of the planned administrative sanctions, in order to protect the free access of citizens to the sea and the beach, have been intensified.
Throughout the territory, steps by the Real Estate Services carry out on-site autopsies - putting in «mixture» and surprise controls - while remote controls are also carried out using new technologies, in the framework of the cooperation of the Ministry of National Economy and Finance with the University of the Aegean. However, so far the vast majority of complaints which have been examined and led to the control of more than 250 beaches and more than 400 businesses have come, primarily through the MyCoast application, as well as through citizen phone reports to local Real Estate Services.
As informed by the «SUBJECT», the competent services receiving complaints and examining them until they have been established that there is an infringement, conclude that the overall picture resulting from the checks in recent weeks is clearly improved in relation to previous years, since the vast majority of businesses comply with the obligations laid down in the strict institutional framework for granting the simple use of sea and beach.
Infringements
This does not mean that there are not those who break the law. For example, in mid-June a 72-year-old man was arrested who was in charge of operating a business on the beach, who had placed tables and speakers. It had also installed 200 umbrellas with 400 deck chairs. In addition, the store operated without permission, as it had been sealed a few days before the competent operators.
Louketa also entered businesses that had been filled with umbrellas and sun beds in Halkidiki and the Municipality of Dios-Olympos, Neo Panteleimon and the beach of Leptokaria. In Pserimos the operators of four stores in which illegal installation of arbitrary structures and table seats in an Aegean zone was found were arrested. In Lesvos, shopkeepers were forced to remove pergoles.
However, checks on the services of the Ministry of National Economy and Finance have also identified infringements involving, inter alia, the non- suspension of the intended sign, the overrun of the licensed area with additional umbrella seats or other facilities, as well as the arbitrary occupation of agialou or beach without a concession agreement. Criminals were imposed on all administrative fines and penalties provided for in the legislation.
The regions of the country that gathered nationwide and the largest number of complaints are the Regional Units of Halkidiki, Eastern Attica, Cyclades and the Regional Unit of Dodecanese. Controls are continuing throughout the country, while targeted control actions are already under way in the areas where the largest number of complaints are raised.
Sources of the Ministry of National Economy and Finance point out that the ministry will continue to use all available control instruments and modern technological tools in order to ensure the application of legality, free access for citizens to the sea and beaches and to protect their public and shared character.
Record on concessions
What makes even more impressive the historical low in squatting complaints, illegal banking seats, umbrellas and other arbitrariness on beaches is the fact that this occurs in a year in which more than 8,000 concession contracts were signed for the summer season.
Οι Κτηματικές Υπηρεσίες του υπουργείου Εθνικής Οικονομίας και Οικονομικών ανταποκρίθηκαν στον ιδιαίτερα αυξημένο όγκο αιτήσεων για την παραχώρηση της απλής χρήσης αιγιαλού και παραλίας, καθώς για πρώτη φορά ανέλαβαν να προχωρήσουν σε παραχωρήσεις σε όλη την Ελλάδα, ολοκληρώνοντας έως σήμερα την υπογραφή περισσότερων από 8.000 συμβάσεων παραχώρησης. Εξ αυτών, 4.870 συμβάσεις υπεγράφησαν απευθείας με όμορες επιχειρήσεις, ενώ 3.130 συμβάσεις προέκυψαν κατόπιν ηλεκτρονικής πλειοδοτικής δημοπρασίας.
Καθοριστικό ρόλο στην επιτυχή ολοκλήρωση της διαδικασίας διαδραμάτισε η πλήρης ψηφιοποίηση του συστήματος παραχωρήσεων. Η λειτουργία δύο εξειδικευμένων ψηφιακών πλατφορμών -μιας για την ηλεκτρονική υποβολή αιτήσεων από τις όμορες επιχειρήσεις και μιας για τη διενέργεια των ηλεκτρονικών δημοπρασιών- επιτάχυνε σημαντικά τις διαδικασίες, ενίσχυσε τη διαφάνεια και αναβάθμισε την εξυπηρέτηση πολιτών και επιχειρήσεων.
Πόσο πάει το μακροβούτι
Σαν βγεις στον πηγαιμό για την… παραλία, είναι βέβαιο ότι κάπου θα σκεφτείς να στρώσεις την πετσέτα. Αυτό δηλαδή που κάνει και μεγάλη μερίδα των λουόμενων, η οποία βρίσκει τις τιμές ενοικίασης των ομπρελών με τις ξαπλώστρες «καυτή». Πόσο όμως; Και πού βρίσκονται οι τιμές σε σχέση με πέρυσι; Η είσοδος σε μια οργανωμένη παραλία κυμαίνεται από 8 έως 12 ευρώ το άτομο, ενώ για ένα σετ με ξαπλώστρες και ομπρέλα το κόστος ξεκινά από τα 15 ευρώ και μπορεί να φτάσει ή και να ξεπεράσει τα 100, εκτοξεύοντας το budget μιας οικογένειας ή μιας παρέας για μια μέρα στην παραλία.
Δεν είναι μόνο η ξαπλώστρα. Επειδή και το μπάνιο θέλει το… πρεστίζ του, συχνά είναι απαραίτητη η κράτηση (!) ομπρέλας και ξαπλώστρας που είναι «πρώτη ξαπλώστρα πίστα», δηλαδή είναι τοποθετημένη στην πρώτη σειρά, επάνω, ή σχεδόν επάνω στο κύμα – και η τιμή διαφοροποιείται ανάλογα με τη σειρά, πράγμα που δεν αποτελεί μόνο ελληνικό φαινόμενο.
Και επειδή και η ξαπλώστρα έχει τον δικό της δείκτη κοινωνικής καταξίωσης, ειδικευμένες εφαρμογές αναλαμβάνουν τα «ρεζερβέ» στις παραλίες, κάνοντας online κρατήσεις ομπρέλας και ξαπλώστρας στις πλαζ όπου αυτό επιτρέπεται, με θέση στάθμευσης, booking ημερομηνίας και ώρας, αλλά και ηλεκτρονική πληρωμή. Ολα αυτά (και πολλά ακόμα) για μια… βουτιά στη θάλασσα!
Οι εφαρμογές παρέχουν τη δυνατότητα κράτησης για όλες τις περιοχές της χώρας, αν και το μεγαλύτερο ενδιαφέρον συγκεντρώνει η ακτογραμμή της Αττικής, λόγω πληθυσμού, με τους λουόμενους να… προγραμματίζουν το μπάνιο τους στην παραλία, να κάνουν κράτηση και όταν φτάνουν στην πλαζ, να επιδεικνύουν τον μοναδικό κωδικό που έλαβαν με email προπληρώνοντας την ξαπλώστρα.
Με αυτόν οδηγούνται στις… ρεζερβέ ξαπλώστρες τους – για να απολαύσουν (εκτός από τις βουτιές) μια σειρά από υπηρεσίες και παροχές, από δωρεάν πάρκινγκ ως ελεύθερη κατανάλωση προϊόντων μέχρι ενός ποσού ή κερασμένα κοκτέιλ. Ή και σε ορισμένες περιπτώσεις… απλά στη θάλασσα!
Ετσι λοιπόν, στην παραλία του Καβουρίου («Κrabo») η τιμή για την ενοικίαση ξαπλώστρας είναι 150 ευρώ τα Σαββατοκύριακα και 120 τις καθημερινές. Η καμπάνα τα Σαββατοκύριακα κοστίζει 220 ευρώ (από 180 πέρυσι και 150 πρόπερσι) και τις καθημερινές 180 (έναντι 150 ευρώ πέρυσι και 105 πρόπερσι).
Ενδεικτικός τιμοκατάλογος
The Βούλα, η πρώτη… ξαπλώστρα κύμα (κατά το πρώτο τραπέζι πίστα) χρεώνεται 100 ευρώ τα Σαββατοκύριακα και 55 τις καθημερινές, ενώ πέρυσι κόστζε φθηνότερα, στα 80 ευρώ τα Σαββατοκύριακα και 60 τις καθημερινές.
The Σούνιο η ξαπλώστρα πρώτης σειράς κοστίζει σταθερά από πρόπερσι και πέρυσι στα 80 ευρώ τα Σαββατοκύριακα και 50 τις καθημερινές. Εδώ όμως, παρέχεται μια σειρά υπηρεσιών στην τιμή, από πάρκινγκ έως ελεύθερη κατανάλωση (έως και 20 ευρώ), υπό τον όρο ότι η ξαπλώστρα αφορά αυστηρά μόνο ένα ζευγάρι και ένα παιδί έως δέκα ετών.
The Bark, από την άλλη, η κράτηση ομπρέλας (σετ με δύο ξαπλώστρες) κοστίζει 40 ευρώ τα Σαββατοκύριακα και 30 τις καθημερινές, όσο και πέρυσι. Κάπως έτσι, αυτή η πλαζ εντάσσεται στις πιο οικονομικές επιλογές για τις καθημερινές, όπως για παράδειγμα είναι και η «Coconut» του Σχοινιά, με τη δυνατότητα κράτησης ομπρέλας από 30 ευρώ τα Σαββατοκύριακα και 15 τις καθημερινές, αν και υπάρχει η επιλογή του Μωραΐτη, εκεί, με την κράτηση να κοστίζει 50 ευρώ.
Στην υπόλοιπη χώρα επικρατεί περίπου το ίδιο σκηνικό.
The Ζαχάρω Ηλείας, η ρεζερβέ ξαπλώστρα μπροστά στο κύμα κοστολογείται στα 15 ευρώ (σε άλλες παραλίες της περιοχής όμως, η χρήση είναι ελεύθερη, υπό την προϋπόθεση της κατανάλωσης έστω ενός καφέ που δεν ξεπερνά μαζί με νερό τα 4 ευρώ), ενώ στη Σητεία, in Λασίθι, η ομπρέλα κοστίζει 50 ευρώ και η καμπάνα 80, στον Αγιο Γεώργιο Νάξου στα 45 ευρώ, στα Μάραθα Σκιάθου στα 50 ευρώ, ενώ στην Ψάθα, in Αλεποχώρι από 15 ευρώ. Στο Βαθύ της Σίφνου, η ομπρέλα κοστίζει από 53 ευρώ, ενώ στο Αγκίστρι από 17 ευρώ.
