«Today, we are moving on to some wide organizational changes within Uber» and «We will therefore reduce our group's potential by about 10%.».
According to calculations by the French Agency, this percentage corresponds to about 3,300 jobs around the world.
At the same time, VTC Uber also announced that it is ending its activity in Nigeria and Uganda, with immediate effect.
The American company founded in 2009 was expanded in 2014 to Nigeria, beginning in Lagos and two years later in Uganda. «After examining our activity in depth, we made the difficult decision to put an end to our operations in Nigeria from 2 September 2026», stated in the communication, without any further clarification.
Last January Uber had also left Tanzania, where it was active in the last decade.
